Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 2, 2026

In short: Lastward has no accounts and no sign-up. Your progress is saved on your device, and we never sell your data. The game shows optional rewarded ads only when you choose to watch them. Those ads may be personalized if you allow it — you are asked first, and you can say no at any time without losing anything in the game.

1. Who we are

Lastward is developed and published by an independent solo developer ("we", "us"). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at the address in section 9.

2. Data stored on your device

Your game progress, unlocks, settings, and run saves are stored locally on your device. We have no server and no access to this data. You can erase it at any time via Settings → Reset Progress inside the game, or by deleting the app.

3. Analytics

The game records a small number of anonymous gameplay counters (for example that a run started or ended, and how long it lasted). At present these stay on your device. If we later add an analytics service, we will update this page before it ships.

4. Crash and performance data

The advertising provider (Google AdMob) receives technical diagnostic data such as crash traces and performance information relating to its own components. This is not linked to your identity and is used to keep the ads working correctly.

5. Advertising

Lastward contains optional rewarded video ads only — shown exclusively when you choose to watch one for an in-game reward. There are no banner ads and no forced ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

To serve and measure ads, AdMob may process your advertising identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and performance information, and how you interacted with an ad.

Personalized ads and your choice. iOS asks for your permission before the app can use your advertising identifier to show you more relevant ads (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt). If you decline, the game works exactly the same — ads simply become less relevant. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you are shown a separate consent screen the first time the game runs, where you choose what the advertising provider may do. You can reopen that screen at any time from Settings → Privacy options inside the game. If you refuse consent, no ads are loaded at all and the rewarded-ad offers simply do not appear.

If you purchase the Supporter Pack, you can claim rewarded-ad rewards without watching ads.

6. In-app purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details.

7. Game Center

If you enable Game Center, leaderboards and achievements are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

8. What we don't do

9. Third-party services

10. Children

Lastward is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR, CCPA, and Türkiye's KVKK), you may have rights to access or request deletion of personal data. We operate no server and hold no account data about you, so in most cases there is nothing on our side to delete: local game data can be erased from within the game, and advertising data is held by Google — you can withdraw advertising consent as described in section 5, or request erasure directly from Google. For any request or question, contact us and we will help.

12. Changes

If we change this policy (for example when adding a new feature), we will update this page and its effective date.
